MWSC Deputy Managing Director Shahid removed
Following his removal, Abdulla Salaam Mohamed remains as Deputy Managing Director of the company.
Ibrahim Shahid has been removed from his position as Deputy Managing Director of the Maldives Water and Sewerage Company.
The decision was taken during a board meeting held on Monday, according to information available.
Shahid was appointed to the role in August. Reports indicate that the decision followed a request from the government, although no official reason has been disclosed.
Following his removal, Abdulla Salaam Mohamed remains as Deputy Managing Director of the company.
The development comes after the referendum and Local Council Elections held on Saturday.
On the same day, changes were also made in other state-owned enterprises. Mohamed Najah was removed from his role as Managing Director of Fenaka Corporation, and Hussain Didi was dismissed from Agro National Corporation Limited.
Mohamed Rishwan also stepped down from his position as Managing Director of Maldives Ports Limited.
