The Privatisation and Corporatisation Board on Sunday announced the removal of Shamhooza Ahmed from her positions as chairperson and board member of Male' Water and Sewerage Company.
In a social media, the PCB confirmed the removal of Shamhooza, who is from Naazukeege in S. Feydhoo.
The board did not provide a reason for the decision.
Shamhooza was appointed chairperson of MWSC on December 26, 2023.
The change follows the resignation of former MWSC Managing Director Abdulla Mahtheen last month.
Following his resignation, Hussain Fahmy, who previously served as Managing Director of STELCO, was appointed to lead MWSC.
