Hussain Fahmy has been appointed as Managing Director of the Maldives Water and Sewerage Company.
Fahmy previously served as a Minister at the President’s Office, where he held the role of Principal Secretary to the President on Policy and Manifesto.
The appointment was announced by the Privatisation and Corporatisation Board through a post on X on Tuesday.
The position became vacant following the resignation of Abdul Matheen on Sunday.
Fahmy has also served as Managing Director of the State Electric Company Limited. He was transferred from that role to the President’s Office on September 7 last year.
