Ahmed Shareef Abdul Rahman Yoosuf has been removed from the post of Deputy Managing Director of the Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC).
Shareef confirmed to Atoll Times on Tuesday that his employment contract has been cancelled. He stated that the dismissal was carried out as part of a directive from the Privatisation and Corporatisation Board (PCB) to reduce employee numbers in government-owned companies.

Following the council elections held on 4 April, changes have taken place in the structure of government and positions in companies after the government’s defeat in the referendum proposal.
