Mohamed Nizar named PCB president following Anas resignation
Nizar returns to the top post at PCB after previously serving as president of the board from 2014 to 2019.
Mohamed Nizar was appointed President of the Privatisation and Corporatisation Board (PCB) on Thursday, following the resignation of Mohamed Anas from the post, according to an announcement by the board.
Nizar returns to the top post at PCB after previously serving as president of the board from 2014 to 2019. During his earlier term, he was involved in the government’s privatisation and corporatisation agenda, with a focus on governance frameworks and the operational performance of state-owned enterprises.
He brings more than 30 years of experience in international trade, corporate management and public sector governance. PCB said Nizar has extensive experience in the corporatisation of state-owned enterprises and in monitoring their performance.
Before his appointment, Nizar spent more than two decades at State Trading Organisation Plc (STO), where he held senior executive roles in imports, administration, information technology and sales. His work at STO included involvement in ERP implementation, supply chain optimisation and international trade partnerships.
He has also served on the boards of Maldives Gas Pvt Ltd and Maldives Structural Products Pvt Ltd, and has taken part in national-level committees related to risk management, procurement and corporate governance.
