Lamaan resigns as MACL Deputy Managing Director
According to information obtained, the government has decided to appoint Lamaan to a senior position at another state-owned enterprise.

Mohamed Lamaan has resigned from his post as Deputy Managing Director of Maldives Airports Company Limited on Thursday.
According to information obtained, the government has decided to appoint Lamaan to a senior position at another state-owned enterprise. Administrative procedures related to the appointment are currently underway.
Following his resignation, Mujthabaa Latheef will assume the role of Deputy Managing Director of MACL.
Lamaan was appointed to MACL on 1 February 2024. The company operates Velana International Airport, the country’s main international airport.
Before joining MACL, Lamaan served as Managing Director of Fenaka Corporation during the final period of former President Abdulla Yameen’s administration.
The change comes amid a series of leadership changes at state-owned enterprises following the council elections held on 4 April.
Recent changes have also been reported at Maldives Industrial Fisheries Company, Maldives Ports Limited, Fenaka and Malé Water and Sewerage Company.
