Daanish Mohamed Ameen resigned from the Board of Directors of State Trading Organisation (STO) on Tuesday, citing business commitments abroad.

In his resignation letter, Daanish said he was stepping down because he expected to remain overseas for an extended period due to personal business commitments.

Daanish is the son of Tourism Minister Mohamed Ameen.

STO confirmed the resignation and thanked Daanish for his service and contributions during his tenure on the company’s Board of Directors.

The company said the process of appointing a replacement to fill the vacant board position would be carried out in accordance with applicable laws and corporate governance requirements.
