Ex-MTDC chairman Faiz appointed MIFCO chairperson
Last week, the PCB instructed MTDC to complete the procedures required to remove Faiz from the position after the expiry of his term.
Former Maldives Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC) Chairman Abdulla Faiz has been appointed Chairperson of Maldives Industrial Fisheries Company (MIFCO).
The Privatisation and Corporatisation Board (PCB) announced on Tuesday that Faiz had been appointed as Chairperson and a member of MIFCO’s Board of Directors.
The appointment comes after Faiz’s tenure as Chairman of MTDC ended.
Last week, the PCB instructed MTDC to complete the procedures required to remove Faiz from the position after the expiry of his term.
Faiz was appointed Chairman of MTDC on 13 February 2019 and remained in the position until the end of his tenure.
His appointment comes amid changes to MIFCO’s management.
Former MIFCO Chief Executive Officer Farhath Shaheer resigned from the position in April. Mohamed Anas was subsequently appointed as the company’s CEO.
MIFCO is a state-owned company engaged in purchasing, processing and exporting fish and fish products.
