Bank card details won't be stored in RTL system, MTCC says

The company said it received a complaint earlier this month about a security vulnerability in the RTL app.

MTCC said on Sunday that details of customers'  bank cards used on its Raajje Transport Link (RTL) services will not be stored and used for illegal gain.

MTCC has issued a statement addressing a security vulnerability in the RTL app flagged by some social media users.

“We have been working to improve the quality of service since the launch of the service," a statement issued by MTCC read.

The company said it received a complaint earlier this month about a security vulnerability in the RTL app. The company said it has investigated the matter and resolved the issue immediately.

MTCC said in a statement:

  • No customer's bank card information will be stored in a manner that could be used to take undue advantage of it

  • Bank card details are stored for the extent necessary for safe and secure digital transactions

  • Bank cards can be used in the RTL system in accordance with the security standards of the banks linked to the system

  • The digital devices used for card transactions in the RTL system meet international payment card industry standards

  • No banking information of customers using the RTL app will be stored in MTCC's systems
