The Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA) has made changes to its structure with the aim of making it a modern central bank that produces good results.

The changes in the structure of the central bank include:

  • 1-

Changing Assistant Governor position to Managing Director

  • 2-

Changing existing Assistant Governors to the post of Advisors

The MMA has three assistant governors.

An MMA official told Atoll Times that five managing directors will be appointed with the change. Their term of office is five years.

The MMA said the changes will strengthen the central bank's work and facilitate better results.

The opportunity to apply for the new positions will be open to the public as well as employees of the MMA, the official said.

This, he said, is a new opportunity for existing qualified employees and technically qualified people to enter the MMA.

The changes were made by the new Governor in consultation with the MMA Board.
