Aasandha sees 11% hike in Q2 expenses, totals MVR 823 million

The number of people seeking Aasandha services in the second quarter of this year also increased compared to the same period last year.

Maldives' national health insurance scheme Aasandha expenditure in the second quarter of the year increased compared to the same period last year.

According to the company's figures released on Thursday:

  • Aasandha spent MVR 823 million in the second quarter of this year

  • MVR 738 million during the same period last year

  • This is an increase of 11.5%

A total of 265,059 people received services from Aasandha last quarter.

They include:

  • 2,807 people received treatment abroad

  • During the period, 1,232 people were evacuated in medical emergencies

The number of people seeking Aasandha services in the second quarter of this year also increased compared to the same period last year.

In the second quarter of last year, Aasandha spent MVR 738 million and 260,725 people received treatment.

For the first three months of this year:

  • MVR 838 million was spent by Aasandha

  • 276,439 people received treatment

  • 1,599 people were evacuated in an emergency

  • 1,691 people were sent abroad
