Man remanded for fake slip in dollar exchange

A man has been arrested for sending a fake slip to show that he had sent dollars in exchange for Rufiyaa.
The Criminal Court on Thursday issued a court order to remand a man in custody for 15 days for allegedly sending a fake slip showing that he had sent dollars.

The arrested man was identified as Zaydan Mohamed Hashim, 27.

He sent a fake slip saying he was selling dollars.

More than MVR 28,000 was obtained in the transaction.
Hashim's family has agreed to pay part of the money and refund it.
Police have launched an operation called Operation Fake Slips to raise awareness among businessmen about the increase in sending invalid bank slips.
