NSPA cancels office agreement with president-linked TV channel
Maldives Media House operates MM TV, a recently launched television channel associated with President Mohamed Muizzu.
National Social Protection Agency (NSPA) on Monday announced the cancellation of its agreement with Maldives Media House Pvt. Ltd. to rent a building for its office construction.
In a press release, NSPA stated that the decision was made following allegations raised by various parties against Maldives Media House.
"After consulting with the Ministry of Finance, the agency has decided to terminate the agreement and is undertaking further transactions in this regard and completing the necessary procedures under the guidance of the Ministry of Finance," the statement read.
Maldives Media House operates MM TV, a recently launched television channel associated with President Mohamed Muizzu. The channel is managed by senior officials from the communications department of the President's Office.
No additional details regarding the allegations or subsequent actions have been disclosed.
