An incident occurred in Ga. Dhaandhoo on Friday when the lifeless body of a 33-year-old man, identified as Ahmed Abdulla, was discovered on the street.
According to Dhaandhoo Council President Mohamed Asif, the body was found at approximately 8:30 am.
The deceased was located on the road opposite the island's power station. The body was first noticed by a local resident who was walking down the street at the time.
Asif mentioned that it remains unclear whether Ahmed Abdulla had sustained any injuries.
"It is not known whether he was injured or not. He is currently in the hospital under police custody," Asif stated, though it is not clear if this refers to the condition of Abdullah or another individual involved in the investigation.
Forensic police have arrived on the scene to investigate the cause of death. Authorities are working to gather more information regarding the circumstances surrounding the discovery.
