12 suspects in Hiyaa flat kidnapping released

Twelve individuals arrested for abducting a Maldivian man and allegedly attempting to sever his finger have been released by the court.
The incident occurred on the 20th floor of the 11th apartment in the ninth tower of the Hiya flats on the night of July 20.
The Maldives Police Service announced on Tuesday that the investigation into the case is still underway. The police have submitted the case to the Prosecutor General’s Office, requesting them to pursue charges against the suspects.
According to the police, the release of the detainees was a decision made by the court, but no specific details were provided regarding the reasoning behind this decision.
