Immigration arrests 17 undocumented expats in Heenamage operation
Immigration continues to conduct special operations to address the issue of illegal immigrants in the country.
Maldives Immigration apprehended 17 undocumented immigrants during an operation conducted Monday in the parking lot of Heenamage.
According to Immigration officials, concerns had been raised by the public regarding the control of the Heenamage parking area by foreign nationals.
In a targeted operation, the area was inspected, including shops and cafes operated by foreign nationals. The inspection led to the discovery of 17 individuals working without valid visas. These individuals were taken into custody by Immigration authorities.
Immigration continues to conduct special operations to address the issue of illegal immigrants in the country. A dedicated portal has also been introduced to facilitate the public in reporting information about undocumented individuals.
