Maldives Immigration on Wednesday detained three Indian nationals for conducting fortune-telling and spiritual healing services in the Maldives.
The arrests were made during a joint operation carried out by Immigration and the police. The individuals, identified as:

Dhananjay Bailapathy (18 years)

Nagaraja Bailapati (39 years)

Sreehari Vanam (25 years)
The operation followed reports of spiritual healing classes being conducted by a Hindu individual in the country. A police spokesperson confirmed that the three arrested individuals were connected to the reported activities.
According to Immigration, arrangements are being made to deport the detainees.
The suspects allegedly promoted their services via a Facebook page, offering solutions to personal issues through palm reading, face reading, and horoscopes. They charged MVR 300 per session and provided treatments in Hulhumale.
On contacting the Facebook page, an individual stated that they had already received a significant number of clients seeking treatment.
Further investigations into the case are ongoing.
