
HDC terminates JAAH flat agreement; takes over development
The project remains incomplete, leading to concerns from buyers.
The Housing Development Corporation (HDC) has decided to take over the long-delayed The Gardens flat project in Hulhumale from JAAH Investment Pvt Ltd.
The company has been instructed to hand over the site after receiving multiple notices to complete the project.
JAAH Investment, which has links to Jausa Construction, was awarded the contract in 2017 to develop The Gardens flats. However, the project remains incomplete, leading to concerns from buyers. The HDC had issued a final notice to the company in January 2025.
In a statement issued Sunday, the HDC confirmed that the agreement with JAAH Investment has been terminated due to non-compliance with the final notice.
The statement also outlined the following:

JAAH Investment was given a final warning in January 2025 to complete the project within 45 days.

As of 16 March 2025, the company has been formally notified of the contract termination and ordered to hand over the site.

The decision was taken to facilitate the completion and handover of apartments to buyers as soon as possible.

Buyers will be informed in the coming days about the next steps regarding the completion of the unfinished work.
