
RDC awarded MVR 829 million contract to modernise Addu Link Road
Under the agreement, the Addu Link Road will be upgraded over a period of 1,440 days—approximately four years.
The Road Development Corporation (RDC) has been awarded a contract valued at MVR 829 million for the modernisation of the Addu Link Road.
The agreement was signed during a ceremony held at the Ministry of Construction and Infrastructure on Tuesday. Minister of Construction and Infrastructure Dr Abdulla Muthalib signed on behalf of the ministry, while RDC Managing Director Ali Zuhair signed on behalf of the corporation.
Under the agreement, the Addu Link Road will be upgraded over a period of 1,440 days—approximately four years. Planned works include:

Asphalt surfacing or stone paving of 67.58 kilometres of CTB roads

Installation of sewerage and sanitation systems in Feydhoo

Construction of zebra crossings

Erection of road signs
In addition to the Link Road project, another infrastructure initiative is ongoing in Addu with India's Afcons. This project includes:

Installation of a 103-kilometre sewerage system

Tarring of 40 kilometres of roads, covering all neighbourhoods

Laying of 60 kilometres of road with a cement-stabilised base layer

Resurfacing of 3.4 kilometres of existing asphalt roads
