
New scholarships open in Islamic fields
A total of 50 scholarship opportunities have been made available this year, with 20 positions for local study in the Maldives and 30 for study abroad.
The Ministry of Islamic Affairs has announced the opening of scholarship opportunities in various Islamic fields of study, many of which are currently unavailable or rare in the Maldives.
The initiative was launched Monday during a ceremony held at the Islamic Centre.
A total of 50 scholarship opportunities have been made available this year, with 20 positions for local study in the Maldives and 30 for study abroad. These scholarships are aimed at strengthening Islamic knowledge in areas that are not commonly pursued or offered locally.
Local scholarships will be provided through the Maldives National University (MNU) and the Islamic University of Maldives (IUM). The fields of study covered by these scholarships include:

Islamic Studies
For students opting to study abroad, opportunities are available in Malaysia, Brunei, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and SAARC countries. These international scholarships cover programs ranging from Bachelor’s degrees to PhDs in a diverse range of fields, including:

In a notable expansion of support, super specialisation opportunities are also open in urology/urological surgery, pediatric neurology, and other neurology-related fields.
