
Court remands Raud for 5 days in woman's fall probe
He was released before the expiry of the 20-day remand period and was subsequently re-arrested under a new warrant on Thursday.
The Criminal Court on Friday remanded Raud Ahmed Zilal in custody for five days in connection with the incident involving Hawwa Yumnu Rasheed, who fell from the ninth floor of a building on 18 April.
Yumnu fell onto the roof of a nearby warehouse building from H. Fentenoy house on Buruzumagu in Malé. At the time of the incident, she was inside the residence with Raud, who was later identified as the individual last seen with her on the stairway.
Raud was initially arrested on 25 April, six days after the fall. He was remanded in custody on multiple occasions by the Criminal Court:

He was released before the expiry of the 20-day remand period and was subsequently re-arrested under a new warrant on Thursday. The court has now ordered a five-day remand following this second arrest.
According to the Maldives Police Service, Raud tested positive for cannabis.
The investigation into the incident remains ongoing.
