The Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) has strongly condemned the decision to prosecute four former Housing Ministry officials over alleged corruption in the distribution of government flats, calling it a politically motivated move aimed at influencing the upcoming election.
The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) referred the case to the Prosecutor General’s Office Tuesday, alleging that the officials illegally added individuals to a list of 4,000 flats distributed by the previous administration under the landlord scheme.

The party claimed the ACC’s actions violated legal procedures and alleged the entire investigation was manipulated from the start.
