Three private companies have been awarded contracts totalling MVR 23 million to upgrade health centres across six islands in the Maldives. The agreements were signed at a ceremony held at the Ministry of Health.
The scope of the projects includes the construction of new buildings and the expansion of existing facilities in the designated islands.

Attention Construction Pvt Ltd
Perfect Malafehi Maldives Pvt Ltd was awarded the contracts to upgrade the health centres in HA. Vashafaru and HA. Thuraakunu.
At the Vashafaru Health Centre, the project includes the construction of a ward and private room, laboratory, nurse station, procedure room, garage, and storeroom. The total cost of this project is MVR 4.8 million, with a completion period of 210 days.
At the Thuraakunu Health Centre, the project scope includes the construction of an office, meeting hall, public health office, store, and laundry. The project was also awarded for MVR 4.8 million, with completion expected within 180 days.
Econ Maldives Pvt Ltd was awarded a contract for the construction of a ward and private room, laboratory, nursing space, procedure room, garage, and storeroom. The contract value is MVR 4.8 million, with a 180-day deadline for completion.
Attention Construction Pvt Ltd was contracted to upgrade health centres in N. Magoodhoo, F. Bilehdhoo, and F. Dharanboodhoo.
For the Magoodhoo Health Centre, the planned works include a ward, laboratory, nurse station, procedure room, laundry, and storeroom. The project cost is MVR 4.8 million, with a completion timeline of 180 days.
In Bilehdhoo, the work includes a ward, laboratory, nurses’ space, labour room, and storeroom. The project is valued at MVR 4.3 million, with a 180-day completion period.
For Dharanboodhoo, the work involves the construction of a ward and private room, laboratory, nurses’ space, procedure room, garage, and storeroom. The contract is worth MVR 4.8 million, with a completion period of 210 days.
According to the Ministry of Health, several government and private entities are currently undertaking similar projects across the country to enhance the quality of health services in various islands.
