2 arrested with over a kilo of drugs in Malé
Both suspects were produced before the Criminal Court on Wednesday, where they were remanded in custody for 15 days.

Police have arrested two people after seizing more than one kilogram of suspected narcotics during an operation at an apartment in Malé.
The suspects were arrested on allegations of possessing, using and trafficking illicit drugs.
Those arrested are:

Mohamed Umair, 58, of G. Moonlightview, Malé.

Maasha Ibrahim, 38, of Gulalaage, Laamu Dhanbidhoo.
The arrests were made on Tuesday during a joint operation by the Police Drug Enforcement Department and Counter Narcotics Intelligence. Acting on intelligence, officers searched the apartment where the two suspects were staying.
Police said the search led to the seizure of more than one kilogram of suspected narcotics, along with a quantity of cash.
Both suspects were produced before the Criminal Court on Wednesday, where they were remanded in custody for 15 days.
According to the court's remand orders, both suspects admitted that the narcotics found in the apartment belonged to them.
The orders also state that both admitted to trafficking drugs and using the proceeds from those activities.
A preliminary urine screening conducted on the male suspect returned a positive result for narcotics, according to the court documents.
The court further noted that investigators had presented sufficient evidence to establish reasonable grounds to suspect both individuals of the alleged offences.
Police are continuing their investigation.
