The Immigration Department has confirmed that a man convicted by the United Kingdom civil court for sexually assaulting a popular singer at a massage parlour in London is not a Maldivian citizen.
According to reports, the man, identified as 36-year-old Sundaralingam Koodalingam, was found guilty in the United Kingdom in relation to the incident. The Daily Mail reported that some news outlets had incorrectly identified him as a Maldivian.
