Parliament on Monday approved Ali Faiz's nomination as the ambassador of Maldives to Sri Lanka.
President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has submitted a proposal to the parliament to appoint Faiz who is currently the president of the police board as the Maldivian high commissioner in Colombo. The parliamentary standing committee on foreign affairs had approved his nomination.
In Monday's sitting, 62 MPs voted in favour of Faiz's nomination.
