Homeland Security Minister Ali Ihsan has said that the best way to prevent corruption is to hold responsible positions.
Referring to the upcoming Friday night demonstration by the opposition MDP, Ihsan told 'X' on Monday that those in the opposition had a chance to curb corruption and should be asked why they did not work for it when they were in office.
Ihsan said the law should be enforced against those who commit corruption.
"We are doing that. People should think about what the political opposition is trying to do by taking people to the streets today without doing this for the past 15 years," Ihsan said.
He said the current opposition should be questioned about their efforts to curb corruption while in office and if such a question is asked of the current government, it will be answered.
Next Friday is an anti-corruption demonstration, former President Mohamed Nasheed said Tuesday. He said the protest should not be seen as a party affair.
