A person has been found dead following the land craft capsizing near Kaafu Atoll Eriyadu.

According to the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF), another foreign national remains missing. The boat, which was a landing craft, had seven people on board when it capsized Wednesday night.

MNDF confirmed that four individuals were rescued. One of the missing persons, identified as Ahmed Shifan, 38, of Sarusoonuge, Gaafu Dhaandhoo, was later found dead.

Search efforts are ongoing to locate the remaining missing person.
