A rise in influenza cases has been recorded in Malé, according to paediatrician Dr Ahmed Faisal.
Writing on his X account on Monday, Dr Faisal said the spread of influenza in the capital has increased. He noted that some children are experiencing significant symptoms, including pain that prevents them from walking.
Dr Faisal advised the public to take the influenza vaccine as a preventive measure.
He also said that dengue cases have increased in several islands of Kaafu Atoll, with higher numbers reported in Hinmafushi and Maafushi. He urged communities to take steps to reduce mosquito exposure to limit the spread of dengue.
