President's son Umyr wins bronze at Maldives Sports Awards
Umyr was nominated in the category as a table tennis player, representing the Table Tennis Association.

Umyr Mohamed Muizzu, the eldest son of President Mohamed Muizzu, has won the 2024 Bronze Award for Best Young Male Player of the Year at the Maldives Sports Awards.
The awards are organised by the Ministry of Youth Affairs. Umyr was nominated in the category as a table tennis player, representing the Table Tennis Association.
The Maldives Sports Awards ceremony was attended by President Muizzu and First Lady Sajidha Mohamed. The bronze award represents third place in the category.
This is the first instance in which a serving president’s child has received a national sports award.
The Silver Award in the category was won by Zeek Hassan Latheef, also a table tennis player. The Gold Award was presented to Mohamed Rihan Shaheem, a swimmer.
