Husband arrested over woman's death remanded for 15 days
Nishama's family members and neighbours who spoke to Atoll Times, as well as the people who of Fenfushi, say that he abuses his wife a lot.
A court on Sunday remanded Faisal Abubakr who had been arrested over the death of his wife Nishama Mohamed to 15 days in custody.
Nishama, 28, was reported dead to the police around 12.30pm on Saturday. In connection with her death, Faisal Abubakr, 32, Rosyvilla/ADh. Fenfushi was arrested.
Faisal is Nishama's husband. He went to HDh. Kulhudhuffushi Police Station on his own.
In a message sent to the media Sunday evening, the police said that Faisal was produced before the court and the court remanded him in custody for 15 days. Police, however, refused to divulge further details.
While Faisal is accused of murder, Nishama's family members and neighbours who spoke to Atoll Times, as well as the people who of Fenfushi, say that he abuses his wife a lot.
Nishama's body has been taken to Kulhudhuffushi, police said. They added that they are trying to bring the body to the capital and send it abroad for post-mortem..
Since then, the police have not yet commented on the matter.
