RDC announces 174 job vacancies ahead of local council elections
RDC said the recruitment covers a range of posts including managers, supervisors, support staff, drivers, heavy vehicle operators and security personnel.
The Road Development Corporation (RDC) has announced more than 150 job vacancies as the Maldives prepares for the upcoming Local Council Elections.
In an announcement issued on Saturday, RDC said it is seeking to recruit 174 employees for positions across project sites on seven islands.
According to the announcement, the vacancies are distributed as follows:
-
HA. Uligan – 50 employees
-
N. Miladhoo – 32 employees
-
AA. Rasdhoo – 42 employees
-
Lh. Hinnavaru – 1 employee
-
Lh. Naifaru – 12 employees
-
K. Kaashidhoo – 24 employees
-
Th. Madifushi – 13 employees
RDC said the recruitment covers a range of posts including managers, supervisors, support staff, drivers, heavy vehicle operators and security personnel.
The recruitment announcement comes as the country prepares for the Local Council Elections scheduled for the 4th of next month.
In previous election periods, concerns have been raised over state-owned enterprises and government ministries announcing job opportunities and promotions close to elections. Such announcements are often viewed as attempts to influence voters.
A review of the Government Gazette shows that several state-owned companies have also advertised job vacancies in recent weeks.
