Indian arrested with 2kg drugs at Gan airport

An Indian national has been arrested in connection with the attempted smuggling of two kilograms of narcotics into Addu City by air.
The Maldives Police Service said the individual was intercepted at Gan International Airport last Tuesday. The suspect has been identified as Saldeen Valimohmad Ruffhin, a 58-year-old Indian citizen.
According to police, the suspect was initially detained by Maldives Customs Service upon arrival and was later handed over to police.
Police said the arrest was made under a court order.
Authorities confirmed that narcotics were seized but have not specified the type of substances recovered.
The case is under investigation.
