Works begin on Madaveli land reclamation, Hoandeddhoo road projects

The Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) is the contractor for the Madaveli land reclamation project and the Hoandeddhoo road development project. MTCC Deputy Managing Director Mohamed Jamshad and State Minister Ismail Hameed from the Ministry of Construction and Infrastructure were present.
According to MTCC, the Madaveli land reclamation project was awarded earlier this month for MVR 175 million, with a completion period of 400 days. The project includes reclamation of 19.17 hectares of land, construction of a 1,645-metre revetment, and installation of a 120-metre groin.
The contract for the construction of 50 housing units in Madaveli has been awarded to MIMS Construction. The project involves building three-bedroom units within 450 days. The project value has not been disclosed.
State media reported that the contract was awarded last November. Member of Parliament Saudulla Hilmy attended the ceremony.
The Hoandeddhoo road development project, also awarded to MTCC, includes asphalt paving, installation of a drainage system and street lighting. A total of seven roads covering 3.33 kilometres will be developed.
The project is valued at MVR 93.06 million and is scheduled for completion within 720 days.
