The MDP Youth Wing Vice President Ahmed Maimoon Mohamed has been released.
Maimoon along with the party’s National Assembly member and Naifaru Constituency President Abdullah Rasheed was arrested in connection with the protest held Saturday evening.
Police said Maimoon was released on conditions after being produced in court for a decision on remand Sunday.
Police also said protesters clashed with officers during the protest. One police officer was injured in the clash and was later released after treatment at a hospital.
Police said further investigation is underway.
The MDP has been holding protests in Male since Tuesday night, calling for 12 reforms to government policy and actions.
