The Ministry of Health Maldives has announced vacancies for nine Senior Social Service Workers for its Department of Mental Health.
The positions are based in Hulhumalé, with a monthly salary of MVR 17,982, including allowances. Employees will also be eligible for attendance allowances and overtime payments in line with regulations.
According to the Ministry, the roles will involve conducting home visits to assess the living conditions of individuals with mental health conditions, including cases referred through the national helpline. Staff will also provide support based on established procedures and develop action plans for individuals requiring assistance.
Other responsibilities include identifying individuals who require state protection, coordinating with relevant institutions, responding to emergency situations, and supporting mental health awareness activities. The positions will also involve collaboration with government agencies and non-governmental organisations.
Applications must be submitted with relevant documents by the 30th of this month.
The Ministry has also announced a vacancy for a Lead Social Service Worker at the National Mental Health Department.
The recruitment follows recent public discussion on mental health. The Ministry has urged individuals experiencing distress to seek support through the helpline at 1677.
