Suspected narcotics allegedly being smuggled into Maafushi Prison using a drone have been seized during a police operation.
According to the Maldives Police Service, the items were confiscated during an operation conducted at approximately 12:45 AM on Sunday.
Police stated that officers discovered five rubber packets containing substances suspected to be illicit drugs.
The provisional weight of the seized substances was recorded at 395.92 grams.
The operation was carried out jointly by the Maafushi Police Station and Counter Narcotics Intelligence.
Police said no arrests have been made in connection with the case so far.
The matter remains under investigation.
