Police have identified the man found dead at a guesthouse in Hulhumalé Phase 1 on Friday as Mohamed Razeen, 50, of M. Star in Malé.

According to police, the incident was reported on Friday afternoon after Razeen was found unconscious on the third floor of the guesthouse.

Police said medical personnel confirmed that he had died before being brought to hospital.

Authorities also stated that Razeen had previously been arrested on suspicion of various criminal offences.

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death.
