Police have impounded three motorcycles after they were ridden dangerously on the Sinamalé Bridge, following the circulation of videos showing traffic violations on Friday night.

The footage showed some riders lying flat on their motorcycles while in motion, among other dangerous manoeuvres.
Police said on Saturday that the three motorcycles had been towed and impounded for 30 days for violations of the Land Transport Act and its accompanying regulations.
The police did not state whether any riders had been arrested or charged in connection with the incident.
The incident has prompted public concern over the enforcement of traffic regulations on the bridge. Some members of the public questioned the absence of traffic police while the incidents were taking place.
The videos also sparked concerns about road safety, with members of the public noting that such behaviour poses a risk to other road users, particularly amid a recent increase in serious road traffic accidents.
