Chief of Staff Fayaz promoted to senior minister level
According to the President’s Office website, Fayaz is currently the only person holding the rank of Senior Minister.

Chief of Staff at the President's Office Abdulla Fayaz has been promoted to the level of Senior Minister.
According to the President’s Office website, Fayaz is currently the only person holding the rank of Senior Minister.
It is not known when the government decided to place the post of Chief of Staff at Senior Minister level.
The first person appointed to a Senior Minister-level position under the current administration was Parliament Speaker Abdul Raheem. He was appointed as President Dr Mohamed Muizzu’s Special Adviser on the day the President took office.
Abdul Raheem later resigned as Special Adviser after being elected to Parliament.
