One person was killed and three others were injured while trying to roll over a palm tree that had been felled in Th. Buruni Sunday afternoon.
In a message to the media on Sunday evening, the police said they received a call at 4.44 pm that four persons were injured while trying to topple a palm tree and overturn it in the island.
According to the police:

The four injured were taken to the atoll hospital in Dh. Kudahuvadhoo after treatment at Buruni health centre

One of them was declared dead upon arrival

Out of the remaining three, two are in critical condition
In addition to the body of the deceased, efforts are underway to bring the injured three to Male for further treatment.
However, there were no further details on whether the injured were locals or foreigners.
Further investigation into the incident is underway.
