China donates 3,000 LED lights to Male

Chinese government on Monday donated 3,000 LED lights to Male City Council.
At a ceremony held Sunday morning, China handed over the lights to the council.

Chinese ambassador to the Maldives Wang Lijing handed over the donation

Male Mayor Dr Mohamed Muizzu received the donation
Speaking at the ceremony, Muizzu described the lights as a valuable gift received through the Chinese embassy for the safety and convenience of the residents of Male.
Muizzu said that with the assistance of China, all street lights that have not been changed in Male and Villimale will be converted to energy saving LED lights.
Work is currently underway to install the lights donated by China. Lights have been installed in some parts of Majeedhee Magu.
