China's Fuzhou city and Male City Council are preparing to establish ties.
During his state visit to China last week, President Mohamed Muizzu discussed the establishment of a sister city agreement between Fuzhou and Male.
After the discussions, the two cities decided to work together in various fields. Acting mayor Ahmed Nareesh signed a letter of intent on Wednesday.
The city council said it would strengthen ties with Fuzhou in many areas. These include:

Earlier in 2016, the Male City Council signed a sister city agreement to strengthen relations with China's Shuzhou city. Under this agreement:
