Hulhudhoo MP Ilyas Labeeb from The Democrats and Dhangethi MP Mohamed Nazim from MNP have filed their nomination papers on Sunday.
At separate ceremonies held at the election headquarters at Dharubaaruge, Elections Commission chair Fuaq Thaufeeq received Nazim's nomination papers, while Ilyas handed over his nomination papers to vice chair Ismail Habeeb.
Ilyas was the sole candidate for The Democrats' presidential ticket, while Nazim also secured the ticket of his party uncontested.
Earlier on Sunday, ruling MDP submitted the candidacy of President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih to the Elections Commission.
Nominations for the September 9 presidential election will close at 2pm on Monday.
