SERA, NDMA donate fire fighting, rescue equipment to MNDF
The donated equipment includes pre-owned and even brand new equipment.

The Scottish Emergency Rescue Association (SERA) in coordination with the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) have donated firefighting and rescue equipment to the MNDF Fire and Rescue Service.
The donation ceremony was held on Tuesday at the MNDF Fire and Rescue Service headquarters in Male.
Deputy defence minister Hussain Zahir received and handed over the equipment to the MNDF. The deputy minister was accompanied by the British High Commissioner to Maldives Caron Rohsler. The equipment was brought to Maldives by the British High Commission in Maldives at the expense of the British government.
The donated equipment includes pre-owned and even brand new equipment including road traffic collision rescue kits, emergency scene lighting systems, portable generators and personal protective equipment for firefighting.
The equipment will help the MNDF Fire and Rescue Service to better respond to fire and rescue incidents in the Maldives. The donation is a significant boost to the capacity of the MNDF Fire and Rescue Service and will help to improve the safety of the people of Maldives.

The donation is a testament to the close cooperation between the SERA, the NDMA and the British High Commission in Maldives, according to the NDMA.
