Muizzu asks Solih to avoid new projects, staff, promotions

President-elect Dr Mohamed Muizzu has written a letter to President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih requesting him not to do seven things during the transition period.
In a letter signed by the President-elect to President Solih, he noted that the handover process is being carried out and mentioned seven things that need the assistance of the president to carry out the work safely.
President-elect requested not to do the following in the transition phase:

No new investment by any state institution

No new permits for development and sale of any state land

No transfer of ownership of any state property

Failure to sign international treaties and agreements

Not starting a new project under PSIP or any other program

No change in the salary structure of any public institution

No new recruitment or promotion to any public office
In his letter, the President-elect thanked the President for his assurance of his cooperation in all matters required to ensure the smooth handover of powers to the new government.

PNC Chairman Abdul Raheem Abdulla has been appointed as the head of the transition process.
