Makunudhoo explosion: Muizzu urges worker safety, calls for probe
Muizzu called on all stakeholders in the society to exercise responsibility and care to reduce such incidents and ensure the safety of their employees.

President-elect Dr Mohmmed Muizzu has called for an investigation into the two recent explosions -- one that killed two people in HDh. Makunudhoo on Saturday and another that seriously injured a person in the HDh. Kulhudhuffushi two days ago.
Two Indians were killed when a gas cylinder exploded in Makunudhoo Saturday evening.

The president-elect's office issued a statement saying that both incidents need to be investigated. The president-elect called on the relevant institutions to take steps to prevent such tragic incidents from happening again.

Therefore, he called on all stakeholders in the society to exercise responsibility and care to reduce such incidents and ensure the safety of workers
“At the same time, I request the honourable members of parliament to expedite the work on the Workplace Safety and Health Bill, which has been submitted to parliament, to find solutions to such issues in a systematic manner,” the President-elect said in a statement.
