  • With the sound of the explosion, the whole island shook

  • A fire extinguisher cylinder exploded at Kulhudhuffushi airport on Thursday; the explosion occurred while the airport fire and rescue teams were attempting to refill the cylinder, according to sources

  • Three people were injured in the incident, one seriously

The president-elect's office issued a statement saying that both incidents need to be investigated. The president-elect called on the relevant institutions to take steps to prevent such tragic incidents from happening again.
