Flat rent capped at MVR 6,000 for 2 rooms; MVR 8,000 for for 3 rooms
The transitioning government had plans to move people into the towers as they are completed.

The rent of the flats under the Gedhoruveriya scheme has been announced on Wednesday.
The final list of flat recipients was announced on Wednesday evening. The Planning Ministry said in their announcement:

The monthly rent for the 3-bedroom flat is MVR 7,000 and the maintenance fee is MVR 1,000 per month, making a total of MVR 8,000 for rent.

2 bedrooms for monthly rent MVR 5,000 with the added 1,000 per month as maintenance fee, which totals MVR.6,000.
The ministry said rent should be paid starting three months from the date of handover of the flat. The total repayment period or rent payment period will be divided into 25 years.
The government has already said that all these flats, which are being built by the Fahi Dhiriulhun Corporation (FDC), will be completed by 2025. However, the government plans to move people into the towers as they are completed. The FDC estimates that four towers will be commissioned early next year.
