Sumatra earthquake won't affect Maldives: Met Office
According to the Met office, there is no threat to the Maldives in any of the four earthquakes on Friday.

The 5.6-magnitude earthquake that struck Sumatra, Indonesia, this Saturday morning will not cause a tsunami, the Maldives Meteorological Service, or MET Office said.
The quake struck near Sumatra, Indonesia, at a depth of 10 kilometers.
The Met Office said that the earthquake is not expected to cause a tsunami. Therefore, the Met has not advised any precautionary measures.
On Friday, four earthquakes measuring between four and five on the Richter scale hit the Indian Ocean. According to the Met office, there is no threat to the Maldives in any of the four earthquakes that hit Addu region in the south of the Maldives.
Indonesia's Sumatra region has one of the highest numbers of earthquakes, and in 2004, the 9.1 magnitude earthquake that struck the region triggered a tsunami that affected many countries in Asia, including Maldives.
