Maldives-Sri Lankan joint venture to build 3000 flats

FDC said the joint venture will design, finance and construct 3,000 social housing units in Maldives, but has not revealed where.

Fahi Dhiriulhun Corporation (FDC) has signed a joint venture framework agreement with a Sri Lankan company to develop 3,000 housing units in Maldives.

The project has been awarded to Sri Lankan company Hayley's Aviation and Projects Pvt Ltd and its representative in Maldives, Onyx Builders Pvt Ltd.

The agreement signed on Thursday:

  • Hamdhaan Shakeel, Managing Director, signed on behalf of the FDC

  • Onyx Builders Pvt Ltd Managing Director Hassan Hussain signed on behalf of Sri Lanka's Haley's Aviation and Projects Pvt Ltd

FDC said the joint venture will design, finance and construct 3,000 social housing units in Maldives.

The project will be carried out in areas determined by the corporation and the government, the FDC said. Details of the locations have not yet been released.
